Cell Biology and Neuroscience (CBN) Imaging Center

The Cell Biology and Neuroscience (CBN) Imaging Center is currently located in room B322 of Nelson Biology Labs on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick. The CBN imaging center houses 2 high end microscopes, the Zeiss LSM800 Confocal microscope and the high throughput IN Cell Analyzer 6000 described below. These are available to anyone from Rutgers for a fee.

Gregory Wachtler Experimental Laboratory

The Gregory Wachtler Experiemental Laboratory was endowed by Paul and Nassima Wachtler in 2007 in memory of their son, Gregory, who was killed at the age of 25 while working as a financial analyst in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The laboratory opened in 2008 and was dedicated in 2009. The laboratory is located in room 107, Scott Hall, on the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. It is the locus of research in experimental economics at Rutgers, utilized by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate honors thesis students in economics.

High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility

The High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility is located on the Busch campus of Rutgers University-New Brunswick. We are committed to supporting NMR based structural biology and material sciences research for the University and the surrounding region. The center provides liquid-state and solid-state NMR for academic and industrial users.The facility is supported by two full-time staff members and is a University core facility, financed through usage fees.

Laboratory for Surface Modification

The Laboratory for Surface Modification (LSM) at Rutgers is a truly multidisciplinary endeavor, which provides a focus for research in basic and applied studies of high technology surfaces and interfaces. LSM brings together over 20 faculty in different departments (Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering). In addition, there are over 50 visiting scientists, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students involved in various research projects.

Office of the New Jersey State Climatologist

The Office of the New Jersey State Climatologist maintains a 65-station constellation of real-time reporting weather stations throughout New Jersey.

Paleoecology and Hominin Diet Laboratory

The Paleoecology and Hominin Diet Laboratory is led by Dr. Robert Scott of the Department of Anthropology and seeks to explain the course of our evolution, the development of uniquely human characteristics, and to understand the nature of human variation.

Paleoenvironmental Research Laboratory

The teaching and outreach efforts of the Paleoenvironmental Research Laboratory are based out of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, along with the Department of Anthropology. The laboratory is located in the Biological Sciences Building on Douglass Campus in New Brunswick. Support for our work comes from the National Science Foundation, International Continental Drilling Program, the Leakey Foundation, the Care Foundation, and the Center for Human Evolutionary Studies.

Teaching and Geospatial Analysis Laboratory

The Teaching and Geospatial Analysis Laboratory, located in Lucy Stone Hall includes three main computer lab sites: a primary teaching lab with 25 workstations, an auxiliary teaching/undergraduate study lab with six workstations, and a graduate/undergraduate research lab with ten workstations. Software packages include IDRISI, ArcGIS, ERDAS, SPSS, SAS, and Adobe Creative Suite.

W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience

The W.M. Keck Center is equipped with 4 thermal cyclers, a Axon GenePix 4000B microarray scanner, DNA gel equipment for electrophoresis, Applied Biosystems STORM phosphorimager and FluorImager595 scanner, Milli-Q water system, a Genetix QArray2 microarraying robot, Zeiss LSM510 confocal microscope with a Meta Detector, a Zeiss Automated Cell Scan System for Axiovert 200M, Zeiss 200M fluorescence microscope, two Hacker cryostat, two Atomic Absorption Spectrometers, a 96-well BioTek ELx800 UV/VIS spectrophotometer, Sorvall RC5C centrifuges, Sorvall RC3C centrifuges, Revco low temperature freezer, gel dryer, 2 Savant concentrators, and pumps. A TC lab is equipped with 3 laminar flow hoods and 4 Hera incubators. In the newly built RSCRC, the laboratory area is equipped with Eppendorf 5801R Centrifuge, Eppendorf Mastcyc Gradient with LCD control panel, Eppendorf MDL5301 Vacufuge, Fisher Cytofuge, Kodak Gel Logic 2200 system, and Nanodrop spectrophotometer. The NSC culture room is equipped with 3 laminar flow hoods, 4 Hera incubators and a Zeiss Axio Observer A1 microscope with a Zeiss Axiocam. The hES tissue culture room is equipped with 2 laminar flow hoods, 2 incubators, and a Olympus IX81 inverted fluorescence microscope.
